Marieke and Debarati visit India to collect data and give talks

From October 25th to November 6th, Marieke and Debarati went to India to collect EEG data at Sera Jey Monastic University. On the way, Marieke also gave a talk about the monastic debate research at NIMHANS Bangalore. For the first time, we collected data from debating school children from the local Tibetan Children’s Village school. It was amazing to see these kids debate about things such as mathematics. At the end of our visit, there was an inspiring conference on Ancient Indian and Modern Science, in which scientists and monastics alike gave talks. We learnt a lot about how monastic debate is a form of analytical meditation.
